Statement of Faith
I grew up learning and reciting the Apostles’ Creed in my church. This is the foundation of what it means to be a Christian. The Apostles’ Creed is a creed of the church that is attributed to the early followers of Jesus as they began a life of living for Him. This creed is a summation of their beliefs, and, to me, spells out the faith in Jesus that I firmly stand on.
Apostles’ Creed
I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
Maker of heaven and earth;
And in Jesus Christ His only Son, our Lord;
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, dead, and buried;
the third day he rose from the dead;
He ascended into heaven,
and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty;
from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic church (which is the universal church)
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen.
Our Beliefs
- We believe that the Bible is the living Word of God and is Truth. (Hebrews 4:12)
- We believe that God created the world. (Genesis 1)
- We believe in One God in three persons: Father, Son, & Holy Spirit. (Deuteronomy 6:4, 1 Corinthians 8:6, Matthew 28:19)
- We believe that Jesus was in the beginning (John 1:1-5). That God sent Him to be born on this earth to be the atoning sacrifice for our sins so that we would no longer be separated from God. (John 3:16).
- We believe that Jesus was crucified on the cross to save us from our sins, was buried, and three days later was resurrected and is alive.
- We believe that Jesus is the ONLY way to live eternally with God. (1 Timothy 2:5, John 14:6, Acts 4:12, Romans 10:9), and that He offers this salvation to everyone.
- We believe that the Holy Spirit lives in every believer and equips them with spiritual gifts to do God’s work. (John 15:26)
