Holy Week looks a lot different this year for all of us. We can longer go to church to attend services for Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, or Easter Sunday. And our children are unable to attend their normal church activities this Easter as well. But…we can still teach our children at home about all of these events that took place in the last week of Jesus’ life by using the Holy Week Family Kit I created!
The Holy Week Family Kit has 8 days of devotions and activities for your family to do. Here are the activities:
Palm Sunday
Palm branch decorating (I included white cardstock palm branches for them to color)
The Last Supper
Communion with your family (I included a mini loaf of this No Knead bread for them to use)
Jesus Washes Disciples Feet
Family members wash each other’s feet (I included a small piece of a towel to use as a reminder of how Jesus served His disciples)
The Garden of Gethsemane
Sticker scenes from Oriental Trading
Peter Denies Jesus
Families will play the “Peter and the Rooster” game found on the Deeper KidMin website. It was a resource I found because I am a subscriber to their weekly emails.
The Crucifixion
Magic Scratch 3 Cross craft from Oriental Trading. Plus, I included a mini wooden cross and a piece of black fabric to drape over the cross.
Somber Saturday
Letters to Jesus. I created a letter template for the kids to use for them to write a letter to Jesus and draw a picture for Him.
The Resurrection
He is Alive banner found on Deeper KidMin website (a resource I found because I subscribe to their weekly email), as well as a He is Risen egg from Oriental Trading
Praying these kits will help your children focus on Jesus during Holy Week!

Love this resource!! Our church used it for Holy Week 2020. We created the kits and delivered to each family and it was a perfect way to to connect with the families even though we couldn’t be together. I’m hoping we’ll do it again this year too!
